Do I use this journal for anything other than ranting these days?

Do you know what I hate? Actually, yes, given the amount of stuff I rant about here, you probably do. But do you know what else I hate as well as train stations called "parkway", psycho bus drivers, stickers on fruit and George W Bush? Again, probably yes. But what I bet you don't know is exactly what I'm going to rant about now.

I hate it when subcultures, minorities or other groups who are in some way subjugated, repressed or mocked claim not just that they are the equals of their belittlers, but they are superior. I hate fat people who are convinced that everyone who is thin is shallow and unduly concerned by their appearance. I hate bisexuals who are convinced that everyone is bisexual but that they're superior because they recognise and admit and and don't live in denial. I hate science fiction fans who derisively snear at "normals". I hate the naturally intelligent who assume that anyone not blessed with their gifts is unworthy of friendship, trust or respect. I hate the childfree who are convinced that nobody would want children if they only thought things through properly. I hate "alternatives" who wear the same hoodies and listen to the same music as all their alternative friends while insisting that they're so radical and different and not sheep at all. I hate radical feminists who demand not only equality, but superiority. I hate polyamorists who cannot possibly conceive of any reason to have only one partner other than blind adherence to social norms. I hate the group of fucknuts in every single conceivable grouping of people that I have ever come across, from furries to old people to people whose names start with the letter F, who are utterly convinced that a single trait, opinion or belief makes its holder inherently superior to the rest of the world.

And I would appreciate it if they would all kindly fuck the hell off.

That is all. Thank you.

You hate George W. Bush?

I mean, it makes sense for me to hate George W. Bush, since he claims to be my president. But isn't it just a waste of energy for you?

His influence stretches way, way beyond national boundaries. Admitedly, it's not quite as strong here, but on the other hand, we have absolutely no say in trying to get him out of office.

Like rho, I find him quite a concrete presence (I'm in Australia). From the Iraq situation, which our soldiers are involved in, to escalating rates of domestic violence, divorce, and suicide among farmers affected by the Free Trade Agreement, GWB touches my country a lot.

And this is why we should kill any and all self-professed members of "subcultures".

See, where you go wrong is setting limits to who we should kill.

Kill them *all*. Only then will everyone be equally happy.

I hate it when subcultures, minorities or other groups who are in some way subjugated, repressed or mocked claim not just that they are the equals of their belittlers, but they are superior. [...] I hate radical feminists who demand not only equality, but superiority.

*agrees*

Word. To all of it. *nods*

Re: Do I use this journal for anything other than ranting these days?

hear, hear. i realize it's often just backlash, but still.

yeah... my next zine is actually going to be about snobbery and trust and dealing with a lot of that grumpiness. but i think so much about it and am terrified that MY own frustration at people's elitism is an elitism in and of itself.

i collect fruit stickers. i got it from my family. we had a bowl covered in them. my dish rack is slowly getting covered.
