Time for the annual reminder of this.

Today is March 31. This means that tomorrow is April 1, with all that that entails.

I'm not generally a fan of pranks and practical jokes. Very occasionally I'll find them funny. More often I'll find them somewhere in between inane and pointless and cruel and hurtful. This opinion does not changed based upon the date. As such:

1. If you're planning some sort of practical joke against me, please don't. Odds are that I'll just get pissed off at you, and then you'll get pissed off at me for getting pissed off, and it will just be a big annoying mess where nobody wins.

2. If you're planning a practical joke against someone else then don't expect me to go along with it, because I won't. I also won't be pulling any pranks of my own.

3. If you're the sort of person who is like me and gets annoyed or upset at practical jokes, please be careful tomorrow, take things with a pinch of salt, and so on.

4. If you're the sort of person who enjoys practical jokes, please prank responsibly and try to avoid pissing people off, but enjoy your day.

That is all.

*groans and makes plans to sleep through the entire thing*

Actually Congress has already set up a practical joke for us - while they changed the law about when Daylight Saving Time begins and ends and most things connected to the net were automatically about the change, there are some non-connected semi-intelligent things that will still spring forward tonight - like the time clock where I work. I had to manually set it ahead three weeks ago and now I'll have to manually set it back on Monday.
