Deadly sins, cardinal virtues
delirium happy
It's a random survey thing, but I liked this one.

1. Who did you last get angry with? I hardly ever get angry. Last time I remember actually losing my temper at someone was at Margaret in alt.fan.pratchett two and a half years ago. It's possible that there are other examples since, but that's the last one that I can think of.On the other hand, I get annoyed a lot. Last person to annoy me was the dipship who's been doing the DDoS attacks on LJ.
2. What is your weapon of choice? Keyboard (I was going to say pen, but then realised that that's not really true.
3. Would you hit a member of the opposite sex?
4. How about of the same sex?
I'd hit anyone, if the situation warranted it. To date, the only person I've ever struck in a meaningful way is my brother, who I slapped hard in the face once when he was really pissing me off.
5. Who was the last person who got really angry at you? I haven't a clue. Anyone reading this ever been really angry at me?
7. Do you keep grudges, or can you let them go easily? I tend to remain at least a little distrustful of people for a long while, but I'm always willing to give second (and third...) chances.

1. What is one thing you're supposed to do daily that you haven't done in a long time? I can't actually think of anything that I'm meant to do daily.
2. What is the latest you've ever woken up? Probably something like 23:50. There are very few times of the day when I haven't woken up.
3. Name a person you've been meaning to contact, but haven't: I meant to phone Emily at osme point either yesterday or today, and haven't spoken to her yet, does that count? Oh, and I need to reply to that letter from my grandad.
4. What is the last lame excuse you made? That I wasn't leaving the house to go to the job centre when I was ill. The truth was that it was depression, and the excuse was mostly made to myself. That's the last one I can think of.
5. Have you ever watched an infomercial all the way through (one of the long ones...)? not that I can think of
6. When was the last time you got a good workout in? If walking to and from the supermarket counts (carrying about 5 kilos of shopping for a mile), then about a week ago. If it doesn't, then one hell of a long time ago.
7. How many times did you hit the snooze button on your alarm clock today? None. But then I didn't have my alarm clock set at all today.

1. What is your overpriced yuppie beverage of choice? Well, I suppose you could argue that tapwater is overpriced, since we can get it out of the sky for free, but that would be something of a stretch. But that's pretty much all I ever drink.
2. Meat eaters: white meat or dark meat? dark, but not excessively so.
3. What is the greatest amount of alcohol you've had in one sitting/outing/event? I think I might have had half a mouthful of lager once. Or possibly slightly more than that in food, although alcohol generally boils of during cooking. Very little anyway.
4. Have you ever used a professional diet company? Hahahahaha!! (that's a no)
5. Do you have an issue with your weight? Not any more
6. Do you prefer sweets, salty foods, or spicy foods? Salty
7. Have you ever looked at a small housepet or child and thought, "LUNCH?" Not that I remember, but probably as a joke at some point.

1. How many people have you seen naked (not counting movies/family)? And not counting internet porn either, because that would be silly. Probably between about 5 and 10.
2. How many people have seen YOU naked (not counting physicians/family)? Probably a similar sort of number
3. Have you ever caught yourself staring at the chest/crotch of a member of your gender of choice during a normal conversation? Yes.
4. Have you "done it"? That depends what you actually mean by that stupid euphamism. If you mean "have you ever fucked, then yes. If you mean "have you ever ridden a giraffe" then no
5. What is your favorite body part on a person of your gender of choice? Brain
6. Have you ever been propositioned by a prostitute? Not that I remember
7. Have you ever had to get tested for an STD or pregnancy? No

1. How many credit cards do you own? None, and one debit card
2. What's your guilty pleasure store? amazon
3. If you had $1 million, what would you do with it? Get it converted to pounds sterling. Buy a small house, buy lots of nifty computer stuff. Ask my dad for advice on savings and investment. I dunno if he'd know much, but I'd bet he'd know people who would.
4. Would you rather be rich, or famous? Mostly I'd rather be rich, although I do see the appeal of fame occasionally.
5. Would you accept a boring job if it meant you would make megabucks? That depends on how boring, and how mega the bucks were. If I could do three months of really really boring work, become a billionaire from it and then quit, then I would do, but I wouldn't do anything long term just for the money.
6. Have you ever stolen anything? Ever? Yes.
7. How many MP3s are on your hard drive? Which hard drive? Searching "My computer" (including several mapped network drives) returns 4623 but a lot of those are probably duplicates. My main mp3 folder contains 2481 files. So probably somewhere in between those two numbers (it's also worth noting that a pretty decent number of those are actually legal. Almost certainly over half of them.

1. What one thing have you done that you're most proud of? Beating depression, and still being alive.
2. What one thing have you done that your parents are most proud of? I haven't a clue
3. What thing would you like to accomplish in your life? I'd like for some people somewhere, in no matter how small an area to be able to look back and say that I made a real difference. That I did something that nobody else could or would.
4. Do you get annoyed by coming in second place? Very slightly, but not really. The race is long, and at the end of the day, it's only with myself.
5. Have you ever entered a contest of skill, knowing you were of much higher skill than all the other competitors? Depends on whether you count things like friendly games of chess or not.
6. Have you ever cheated on something to get a higher score? Sort of. I've cheated on schoolwork when I was younger, but that was mainly to avoid getting in trouble, rather than specificly to get a higher score.
7. What did you do today that you're proud of? I went to sleep when I was tired, and then didn't go back to sleep when I woke up.

1. What item (or person) of your friends would you most want to have for your own? rahaeli's new laptop is all that aprings to mind.
2. Who would you want to go on "Trading Spaces" with? One quick google later, and I now know what trading spaces is. Whoever, really. I don't really care that much about interior design. So anyone who would have fun doing it, and who wouldn't object if i covered their living room in psychedelic pink swirls or something.
3. If you could be anyone else in the world, who would you be? Longterm, nobody. Just for a couple of weeks or so to see what it was like, I'd like to live as: a girly girl, a manly man, a toddler, a homeless person, a famous person. No particular individuals though.
4. Have you ever been cheated on? Not that I'm aware of
5. Have you ever wished you had a physical feature different from your own? I've wanted for a good while to be a changeling (DS9 style), partly so that I can frequently change my physical features.
6. What inborn trait do you see in others that you wish you had for yourself? straight hair
7. Do you wish you'd come up with this survey? No, but it i one of the more nifty ones I've seen in a while, hence me taking it.

Finally, what is your favorite deadly sin? Sloth is the one that I succumb to most often. Lust is probably the most fun. Gluttony is the one that gives me the greatest opportunity to gloat about how virtuous I am.

1. What religion do you follow? rhoism
2. What religion were you raised as? Catholic.
3. Do you believe that forgiveness is a religious property, or a human property? To err is human; to forgive is too.
4. Do you believe in magic? Hmmm. I believe that there exist things that we do not understand.
5. What was the last promise you broke? It was a long while ago. I don't make promises lightly.
6. Have you ever said the words to a prayer and not meant it? Many, many times. It took me a long while to realise that prayers weren't actually just meaningless rituals, but that they are meant to mean things
7. Do you believe that anyone could be perfect? No. The concept of perfection is platonic, and doesn't actually exist.

1. Did you get everything you wanted over the last holiday season? No. I got everything that I wanted specificly for the holiday period (which isn't hard since I didn't actually want anything, but in the abstract of things that I generally want, there were many many wishes that went unfulfilled.
2. Regarding your future, what is the best thing you could hope for? Happiness
3. Do you let yourself get your hopes up for something even if you know that there is a large chance of failure? Not really. I tend to take things as they come a lot.
5. Have you ever bought a lottery ticket? Nope.
6. Do you gamble? I take risks. I don't gamble for money.
7. Have you ever had something called off on account of bad weather, but then gone ahead and done it anyway? And that one gets the award for weirdest question on the whole survey. No.

1. What causes do you support? Open source, pro choice, anti cars, scientific research, the welfare state, equal opportunities, queer rights. And undoubtedly many more.
2. What causes have you given money or time to? I've given a whole heap of time to keeping LiveJournal running. I have a standing order from my bank to give money to the mental health foundation. I buy the big issue sometimes (depending on mood, I confess). I'm doing this stuff for comic relief this year. I stand up to be counted when people say stuff that I disagree with (I've outed myself numerous times on Usenet, in order to argue queer rights, for example).
3. Have you ever worked in a soup kitchen or done another kind of outreach for the homeless? No.
4. Would you ever consider joining the Peace Corps, Amnesty International, or another travel-inherent worldwide charity group? I'd consider it, but I doubt that I'd ever do it. I'd rather devote my money and time elsewhere, I think.
5. Do you give money to the homeless on the street? Not as a general rule. I don't think that it actually solves anything long term.
6. Have you ever helped out a friend with basic needs, like rent or food? I don't think so, but I don't think I've ever been in a position to. I expect that I would do if the situation ever arose, and I could afford it myself.
7. What's the greatest extent you've gone to help a friend in need? I've listened to them and tried to counsel them when I was seriously down myself.

1. What are you most afraid of? depression
2. What did you do today that was really brave? Nothing really. Trust that someone will give me sponsorship money in the future despite not having done so yet?
3. Who is your favorite superhero, and why? A tie between Bubbles (powerpuff girls) and Wolverine (Xmen), for no particular reason.
4. Would you put your life in danger to rescue someone? depends who the someone was, how much danger I'd be placing myself in, and how likely I was to succeed in saving them.
5. If you were to face the Wizard, would you want more courage, more brains, or more heart? No. I'd want to face him as me.
6. Have you ever gotten stage fright? Not at all. I had a main role in a school play aged about 12, and treated the performance just like a rehearsal, and I was on national TV on a quiz show when I was 17 or 18, and answered the questions just as well as I would if I'd been exchanging trivia questions with my friends. It doesn't seem to effect me at all.
7. Do you consider yourself to be a leader or a follower? Mostly, I'm a loner. I like to do my own thing. If I have to function with others, then I like to let others make little choices, but to be the one to make choices on big things, which I guess makes me a leader. Oh, and I'm also willing to take charge when people are doing headless chicken impressions, which would also point to leader. Which is a little bit odd, as I always used to consider myself a follower. Although thinking about it, I can play that role too. If I'm in a group with someone else who wants to be leader, then I'll happily defer to them, so long as they're competent. I'm flexible.

1. Have you ever been summoned for jury duty? No
2. If they reinstituted the draft (for both genders), would you go, or would find some way out of it? I probably wouldn't get drafted anyway, as I'm entirely unsuited for military service (depression, seven shades of queer, flat feet, travel sickness, etc.) but I'd rather go to prison than join the armed forces. In the event of a grave, unavoidable war where national security or global stability were truly threatened (like a repeat of WWII, gods forbid) then I would do my best to support my country, but military service would not be the way to do that.
3. Do you support capital punishment (the death penalty)? You have heard that it was said, 'an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.' But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. (Matthew, 5:38-39) -- that is to say, unequivocably not.
4. Do you believe that Dubya is rightfully President of the USA? legally, I just don't know enough about the US constitution to say. His mandate from the people is certainly on shaky grounds though.
5. What was your favorite media circus trial? None of them. There are reasons why hardly anyone trusts either the media or the law.
6. Have you ever written a letter to a politician? No

1. What do you have the hardest time moderating yourself on? Computer usage
2. Do you collect anything? Books. Sheep, sort of
3. Are you addicted to anything? Not really. I wouldn't want to give up chocolate, or IRC, or LiveJournal, or cheese, or lots of things, but I'm sure that I could do if I had to.
4. Have you ever put anything on layaway or used an installment plan? No
5. What's your preferred method of paying for things? debit card
6. Tell us one thing you wish you hadn't let yourself do? Try to go back to university in september 2000
7. Do you feel that you obsess over things? A little bit from time to time, but not really.

1. Who is the wisest person you know? My dad or my grandad probably. My old headmaster would also score high up the list, but I don't really know him.
2. Have you ever participated in a vigil? No
3. Do you take advice when it's given? I try to. I think so. I hope so.
4. What area are you wisest in? I think i have a damn good grasp of priorities.
5. Do you drive defensively? I don't drive
6. Have you ever had unprotected sex outside of marriage? Yes. With two different people.
7. What did you learn today? I think the most I've learned today, is little bits about myself, from doing this survey. I think it's helped me to maybe understand some of why people like me.

Finally, what is your favorite cardinal virtue? At the time of writing, probably charity. I like fortitude and hope as well though.

Whee, now I know lots about rho. I can tell you know that my favorite deadly sin is sloth and that I'll plan to do this survey and never get around to it.

totally off topic, but it just hit me. You should have a themesong, and it should be "Rho, Rho, Rho my boat"...

I prefer:

Dream a but is life,
Merrily, merrily, merrily;
Merrily stream the down gently,
Boat your rho, rho, rho.

which I can sing in that order from memory.
