This is why I should never be allowed to get bored. I just accidentally spent £135 on amazon. Specifically, I accidentally spent a half hour or so browsing around to figure out exactly what I wanted, then accidentally clicked on the "add to basket" buttons, and accidentally went and got my debit card, and accidentally bought stuff. I'm such a klutz sometime.

However, the complete Feynman Lectures on Physics, the complete History Of Britain on DVD, and Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds for the Mac should be arriving through the post in a few days time.

So now I need to think of something else to alleviate the boredom, so I'm writing pointless LJ entries instead.

All you people who like matrices are strange, demented people.

I've been thinking some about the LJ volunteering thing some more, with the help of the ever lovely alsatia, who was acting as my human sounding board. Not going to go into detail at the moment until I've got everything sorted in my head, but I think I know what it actually is that I want to avoid, so I can now attempt to plan around that, or just walk away if I figure that isn't possible.

There have been various adverts for the superbowl (which I just tyoped as supermarket) on the TV, and for some reason that I can't quite fathom, I'm vaguely considering watching it. I've never watched a game of merkin football before in my life, so I think the main fascination for me would be in attempting to figure out what was going on beyond random large people running into each other. I would ask someone to explain it to me, but I doubt I'll watch it any which way, so there's not much point.

This has been a content-lite entry.

oh, man. i just shot the crap out of those cats.

Aren't you meant to be like, getting ready, or eating, or listening to disco music, or something?

oh yeah. yeah.

but i'm not. i finished the packing stuff early!

and also, i am feeling particularly lazy. and apparently cat-shooty.

yes, I'm strange and demented

As far as I can tell--and I actually went to several merkin football games when I was in college, because I got involved with the "marching" band [which as a matter of policy did not march] my senior year--it is, in fact, lots of large people running into each other, and occasionally flinging an oblong object into the air and running into each other where it lands.

That's exactly what I've been thinking for years. And then one of my lecturers said that they were good, and I thought, "right, this is my excuse, now I can pretend that I'm getting them for uni work" and from then on, there really was no turning back.
