I'm going to assume everyone's seen this before and that I don't have to explain it. Questions this time from elmyra.

1. OK. You have mind powers. You can convince people that black is white etc. What cultural one attitude/prejudice in your home culture would you change and how?

I'd mainly like to make people less aggressive and more laid back. To get rid of the mentality where everyone is either a loser or a winner, and many people will tred all over others to try to make sur that they don't turn out the loser. It's so very, very tiring.

2. What was your favourite book/story/fairytale as a child?

I'm not really sure. There wasn't any one that really stands out as being a clear and definite favourite. The three that spring to mind for me are Roald Dahl's Fantastic Mr. Fox, Norton Juster's The Phantom Tollbooth and JRR Tolkien's The Hobbit (which I like much better than LotR).

3. Is there any place/landmark/cultural sight in the world that you really really want to see? Which one?

Oh, many. If I had to choose just one, I'd probably go with the Congo rainforests. I can't really put my finger on exactly why, but it holds a certain appeal to me. Possibly it's just my love of okapis. I want to see pretty much everywhere though. I need to travel more, though that really would require both someone to travel with, and more money.

4. Why physics?

Well, originally, it was because I was fascinated with all the quantummy type stuff, which was (and is) very cool. Then when I was picking a subject for study last time I was applying to university, I picked it as a "safe" option, since I knew that it was something I was good at, and something that I was at least sufficiently interested in to be able to study. These days, my favourite part of it is probably being able to understand how everyday things work.

5. Other than physics, what subject would you like to study to ad beyond degree level if you could?

Again, several. Last time I was applying to university, I spent a while deciding what it was that I wanted to study. Linguistics, anthropology and biology are the three main ones that apring to mind. Maybe also philosophy.

Oooh, pick me! Pick me! (I mean, uh, interview me! Interview me!) Please? :)

1. It's often said that on the Internet you can be whoever you want to be. How does the persona you present on the Internet compare with the "real" you, and have you ever been tempted to deliberately either create a persona or exagerate certain traits on the Internet?

2. What talent or ability do you not have but wish that you did?

3. If you had to emigrate, where would you move to? (imagine for the sake of the question that your finances allowed you to go wherever, and that any government would be happy to let you in)

4. Would you rather live your life where you were responsible for other people and had to make decisions that affected them and bear the responsibility for it, or would you rather that someone else could take the decissions leaving you without any responsibility but in someone else's hands?

5. What sort of fashions and styles would you wear if you didn't have to worry about cost/maintenance/whether they'd physically suit you/how other people would react? That is, what sort of fashions and styles match the way you think of your idealised self?
