This story about an alleged fossil of a dinosaur footprint intersecting a human footprint (via here) is quite unintentionally hilarious. It has the usual quota of creationist fap, but my absolute favourite bit is what the "discoverer" of this horrible fake had to say:

"It is unbelievable, that's what it is."

Why yes. Yes it is.

Obviously, this calls for a poll!

Poll #1231431 dinosaurs!

Which of the following images is more likely to convince you that dinosaurs lived at the same time as humans?

It occurs to me that someone needs to create a lolcreationists community, for mocking this sort of thing with lolcaptions.

The fossil picture is *more* likely to convince me, relatively speaking, than a cartoon which is obviously making fun of the idea. I'm not sure why the cartoon would be more likely to convince someone (as opposed to 'more enjoyable' or 'I approve of this more').

I don't think the poll was made with a serious intent. :D Rho's point is that she thinks that the first picture is so obviously fake that a comic featuring T-Rex, Utahraptor and an unnamed woman would be more likely to convince people.

I personally have no opinion, however. Partly because I just got up. ;p

Well. In the main, it just wasn't meant in a serious way at all.

One could consider it thus: The "fossil" image contains no evidence of people and dinosaurs living at the same time, but it does contain evidence that people want you to believe that they did. This means that any evidence that does seem to exist must be questioned more sceptically, thereby meaning that it is negatively convincing.

The frame from dinosaur comics, on the other hand, is entirely neutral, and therefore wins.

But mostly I just wasn't being serious.
